Ugh, kill me now

I remember taking photos with my Eclipse as if it was yesterday, but in reality, it was September 6th, of '05. I heard of the news before new years, but I didn't want to say anything until I saw the car personally and snagged a couple photos of it. Needless to say, I'm angry, but happy. It's hard to see your previously owned car go down like this, but at least it's out of the hands of a crappy driver.

From what I hear (I sold it to a guy from my dad's workplace), the person who I sold the car to, let his brother drive it for some reason. His brother managed to slide the Eclipse under a 2006 Dodge Ram I believe. No one was hurt. The car still had summer rims and tires on and it was the middle of winter. Argh.

I've been at the salvage yard every day since I first heard the news, and it only came in today. I loved the car and I remember the good times I've had with friends just listening to music or raping Civics. Nothing can last forever RIP

Despite a fractured cranuim and a black eye, at least the bitch went down smiling

Re: Ugh, kill me now

There's no reason why that should be totaled. Very minimal damage it looks like. The frame would not be bent and it looks like bumper, hood, and headlight. Shit, if it was my car I have all those parts laying around, plus red paint in that color, it'd be FREE! Always sucks to see cars go down like that.

Sucks man. Atleast you know where the rims are, think they would look good on the RX?

Re: Ugh, kill me now

I'd for sure buy that back from the auction, that's a hella easy fix. I didn't mean the frame was bent, because obviously that wouldn't happen from that small of an accident, but the bumper mount and post could be bent, which is a bit harder to fix, but it didn't even touch the bumper hardly.

Shit, mine was in worse shape than that after my deer incident... I don't see how they considered that totaled... Then again, not all accidents get reported like they should...

Re: Ugh, kill me now

Well, it shocked the transmission a little bit.. as in the shifter is a bit higher than it should be The engine had pretty high mileage, and I'd always see the guy drive it, so who knows how much it has now. The bumper was touched, trust me haha. It looked like the hitch was the culprit that stabbed the car in the headlight, so you can imagine what happened to everything behind it... pictures just don't do justice. The paint was a custom orange-red pearl, and it was pretty pricey to match, so that's probably why insurance just said fuck it. I doubt it was appraised very high to begin with anyway. I would have taken more pictures, but as you can see, I was in the middle of a flurry Either way, I already have a money pit, I don't need two!

BTW, I've seen the same rims on a black FC, and it looks like complete shit, haha.

Re: Ugh, kill me now

Man I can feel your pain. Although I bitch and moan about my car, the day I see it go I might shed a tear just because I know some high school kid is probally gonna buy it. I've had mine for nearly 2 years and I know every little detail on it. Her 140k birthday is coming up soon to, so if I remember right, I've logged about 30k miles on her myself. I'm selling it before I go of to basic trianing this April, gonna be a sad sight once she's gone.
