95 accord ex-v6
I have an even round dent around 5 inches in diameter less than an inch deep; I was wondering if I can just take off the right front fender w.o removing the wheel or front bumper. It seems it is bolted on under the hood and some screws at the bottom on the splash gaurd. Also, after I take it home whats the best way to remove the dent? Broom stick and towel is alright to bang it out? I appreciate any help. Happy new year too. |

Re: Take fender off for dent?
Taking the fender off is simple, you already seem to have that figured out. Check near the door hinge for a bolt or two also.
Is the dent creased around the egde? If not, you may be able to just pop it right out with pressure at the center. If there are creases, then it becomes a game of finesse to avoid/reduce the visible marks from the outside. Once its mostly popped out, you can use a towel + (hard round object) to smooth out the creases. I suggest using a baseball or softball (avoiding the seams of course) but you're gonna need to kinda roll the fender along with your smoothing so you don't deform your fender. Just take your time and it shouldn't be hard. Then grab some Meguiars color wax and/or paint renewer to help smooth out the appearance on the outside. Good luck mang

Re: Take fender off for dent?
Thanks, yea no creases luckily. I already used an orbital buffer with Megs cleaner wax for the winter but I'll try that stuff too.
