It is for the forward crash sensor either improperly mounted or has a faulty ground.

Re: 1991 CV Airbag light flashing

Would this be the box under the hood latch assembly?
The part number on it is FOAB 14B006 AE
Should I start by just taking off and sanding where the metal touches? I assume this makes a ground connection?

You are correct on where it is and how to try to repair it. There are also sensors in each fender area close to the headlights. Clean and tighten all of them and let us know if anything else is coming up with it.

Re: 1991 CV Airbag light flashing

Scraping the sensor contact points to ground them worked.
It ended up being one of the side sensors. The driver side was screwed in with just one small screw. I bolted it in with two bolts thru the holes that did not have the backside nut preattached (unlike the right side and front). When I got done the sensor is slightly sloped backwards as the holes do allow the sensor to sit flat. It doesn't look like a new fender so maybe it came from the factory like that (who knows).

Any issues with the sensor not laying horizontal?

Thanks for all your help way2old.

There should be no adverse effects from it. As long as the sensor is mounted tightly, there should be no problems. Good luck.
