crx with 5th gen lights... how would that look?

myself and a few friends just got a 1989 crx. we all kinda agree that the lights and whole front are kinda boxy and square. we talked about it and decided to see what some other front ends would look like. i personally like the way the 5th gen fronts look...

so i was wondering if there is anyway to get the front end onto a crx?

also, about how much would that cost?

also, has anyone ever seen this done or have any idea wat it would look like?

well, hope i didnt piss anyone off by doin this... pic or links would be cool too... peace

Re: crx with 5th gen lights... how would that look?

ive seen it, check google. as for cost, probably going to have to do it all yourself, or pay thousands for a shop to do it custom. go to a JY to get the front end off a 5th gen. you will need to chop the fenders as well for the corners, and the front ends always look saggy. i know it would be easy to find pics of an 94-00 integra front end, that is a more common swap. good luck

If you don't like the factory look of the crx, sell it. Please don't murder another one and deduct from it's legacy.
Personally, I think out of all the Honda/Acura front ends out there, the EG front end looks the most horrid.

Is it really worth the couple thousand dollar bill it will cost just to swap a front end? I mean seriously, there's no performance gain whatsoever. I always thought swapping front ends/taillights was stupid and belonged on show cars only.

Re: crx with 5th gen lights... how would that look?

I've seen it. Looks like shit. Don't do it, crx's are getting hard enough to find how it is. I won't even tell you how to do it or give you links just to help save the poor thing.

Bam- I personally love the eg front end. But I really hate the rear end on eg hatches. I'd love to get a coupe!

Re: crx with 5th gen lights... how would that look?

wow... wasnt really expecting that at all... well for starters i've seen the integra front end i personally dont like it... we voted on it and decided not to go with it... and also wat do u mean by they look saggy?... and sorry to be messing with the crx it's just we dont exactly like the way it look, it's just too boxy. if u can tell us how to make it look less boxy and subtle at the same time then please do. no crazy fugly body kits or stuff like that. just looking for something clean that will make it look less boxy... now how hard would it be to just put on the lights and mod everything around that. we have access to a workshop and can do metal work. cuz i was lookign at it and niticed that it's just kinda the lights that make it look so boxy up front. so if we could just on the lights and mod around those that'd be cool and keep the lines, just rounder i guess. so yea...

Then by all means don't buy one. It's a classic the way it is and throwing on any eg or da or whatever front end will make it look like shit.

I agree, 100%.
If you want to change the front end, do the jdm look. They make plenty of sexy lips to go along with it as well. Personally, I think the 90-91 crx front end is the sexiest front evaaaR.
As for the EG front end, let me rephrase it. I still think it looks like crap in it's OEM configuration. But, add some clean (not ebay) one piece headlights and a nice CF lip and it's sexy as hell.

Re: crx with 5th gen lights... how would that look?

I agree with these guys. leave the lights alone, it makes it a CRX. No other front end looks right on it, they all look saggy(meaning the front end kind of points down more than the rest of it). If you want something that isn't boxy, get you a EG.

I like the way the EGs look, wish I had a 4dr over a coupe though, easier to find parts for and they weigh less too. I have 2 coupes, one race car, the other is the parts car because of how big of a pain they are to find parts for.

Re: crx with 5th gen lights... how would that look?

Here's something that no one mentioned yet. If you still want a CRX but with a rounder front end, sell it and buy a Del Sol (the updated version of the crx). You bought a boxy looking car, if you don't like that then you should have bought something newer ('92+).

Re: crx with 5th gen lights... how would that look?

they look saggy because the front end of 92s are sloped or curved a lot more than the "box" crx/civic. and yeah, the stock look with Si lip is the ticket. make some space for a FMIC tho haha.

Re: crx with 5th gen lights... how would that look?

combining two different generations doesnt go well with 4th gens..they have their own look to them and if you dont like boxy go with somethin newer. whatever you do keep it clean.

+2 on jdm..the asians will thank you themselves and play nintendo Wii with you
