Complete; 2004 Yamaha M1 Rossi

I completed this bike about a month or so ago and have just been able to take some reasonable shots of it now that I have purchased some more lighting in the sales! It's almost perpetual darkness here in the UK!
Tamiya's superb kit, Studio 27 carbon decal (not actually correct for the bike but it looks good!), some Studio 27 etch, painted with Zero Yamaha YZR M1 blue (available from Hiroboy) and cleared with Mr Hobby super clear. I redid the throttle/clutch cables from the hand grip, used 5 amp fuse wire for the grip ties and splashed out on the fork set which was well worth the expense.

Anyhow, I know you guys have seen plenty of these...but here's mine!

Wonderful work! CF, brake rotors and heat staining is to die for.

Re: Complete; 2004 Yamaha M1 Rossi

Can you tell me how you achieve that purpleish color on the heat staining? I've tried mixing clear blue and clear red (which in my head would turn purple) but all I get is a brown, mudish goo...

Wonderful build!

Looks fabuluos, one question to help me on my way.
How was the Zero-paint to work with?
I just got me a bottle of Lamborghini's Arancio Atlas from Zero and wonders if there is anything special to think about with this paint brand?

Thank's for the peek.

The purple is done using an old bottle of Pactra RC Racing Finish paint - RC92E Grape Pearl. It's actually for polycarb bodys but works very well for heat coluring when used with Tamiya's clear colours. I started by masking off the weld seams and then using the purple, followed by orange and blue. Most of the blue is at the other end of the pipes though!
