Re: Going Insane!!!

Try the B&M Shiftplus. There really isnt a performance tranny for you. But that will firm up your shifts and increase the pressure.

Other than that, you should be able to modify the 4t45-E to fit in there as well. I'm just not sure if the electronics in the J-body will be able to tell it to shift correctly or not. But I know it's easy to get in the car.

Re: Going Insane!!!

Your best bet is to do one of three things:

1. Lower your power goal to something that the stock transmission can handle

2. Swap an engine out of the Cobalt or something that has a stronger tranny available

3. Save your money until you have a better platform to start from. You could easily buy a Honda and boost it....that would be an inexpensive way to start. If you have enough money and you want to stay with something similar to your Cavalier, look at a Cobalt SS. I would immediately ditch the SC and boost it though....

SC is a form of forced induction...thus the word "Boosted" refers to SC and Turbos...

Re: Going Insane!!!

well i use the word boost to refer to a form of FI that actually is fun on a 4 cylinder. I really dont like the idea of supercharging one because the few supercharged 4cylinders ive been in are lame....turbos are the only way to go

You kids nowadays, always thinking that a supercharger and a turbocharger and two things that can't go together...

That was a gorgeous Ion Redline I saw set up like that.

Dont be an ass. By looking at your post you're going to keep doing it.

A) You can boost a car by supercharger pretty darn well. Everyone knows this. On my car i'm down to deciding if I want Centrifugal, or Roots for a blower.

B) No matter what you use, it always turns out lame when you just throw stuff on the car. Using an incorrectly matched turbo is a real good way to do this. And actually, it's really quite common for people to do.

C) The stock 4t40e max input TQ is 325 ft/lbs. You're not going to get to that on stock internals

But... I see that you have a GSR with turbo. And you know what.. I have nothign against the Honda world. I have a lot of friends with Honda's. I like Honda's. But it's retards like you that act like you do, that make EVERYONE look bad. So just keep your mouth shut from now on.

thanks
