ABS sensors

My ABS seems confused on my '99 LS. When you first start it up and start driving the pedal pulsates and the brakes want to lock up if you have to brake with any force. I'm wondering if the ABS sensors need cleaning, or is my ABS getting ready to go out?

I'm thinking about pulling the ABS fuse and see if that helps, but if anyone has any ideas other than that, I'm all ears!

Thanks,
Ed

Re: ABS sensors

Well, I have a friend with a late 90's Chevy Tahoe. That truck is notorious for having issues with the anti-lock brakes. He called Chevy and they basically told him that there is no fix. He pulled the ABS fuse and the brakes work great now. I think that's his permanent fix. It's been braking great for nearly a month now with ABS deactivated.

I have read in the past that cleaning the sensors with brake cleaner does sometimes fix the issue, so it may be worth a shot.
