Question 2000 ford ranger 3.0

i have a 2000 ford ranger 3.0 it starts in the morning but when i go home it will not always start. just crank... i have heard that when a fuel pump goes out it just goes out is this true? or could it be the realy. jh

Did you mean that it's hard to re-start when the engine is hot after shutdown? How about if you let it cool down and then start, any re-occuring problems. Does the vehicle run OK after you get it started? I doubt it if it's the fuel pump because problems with the fuel pump will affect cold and hot starts, and when idling or moving.

cools down then will not start sometimes runs fine when running and no codes jh
