Unknown Problems

I have a 93' Volvo 850 with 200k+ miles on it, and I have two problems i'd like some advice on. By the way, I don't know much about cars.

Every time after it rains a lot, my car has trouble starting. After a few tries, sometimes many, it finally starts.

Then when i'm driving, my engine will just shut off after a small period of driving (15-45 seconds). It won't stall, jerk, or make any type of noise. It just silently stops.

When it has been dry out, my car starts up fine, and runs fine.

Could it be that water is getting into the gas tank somehow? What else could it be? What do you think the problem is? Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot the problem?

When I drive, there is a loud clicking sound under my car. It seems to be directly under my transmission stick. In other words, it sounds like it's coming from the middle of my front axel.

The clicking sound becomes faster and faster the fast I go.

For the time being, to fix this poblem I just turn up my stereo so I can't hear it.

It's been doing this for quite some time. Do you think it's serious? What do you think the problem is? Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot the problem?

It's not water in the gas tank, but i'm still unsure of what it is.

Howdy, at first I'll post a disclaimer that I have no experience with these cars, just bought a 97 850 myself and thought I'd stop by the forum.. Now, about your issues with hard starting/running in damp conditions - it could be your distributor cap is cracked and is allowing moisture in.. That would be my first guess anyways as it was a common problem on my old vehicle, a GMC Jimmy.. Hope that helps..
