96 auto cynos 4efe swap to a 4efte manuel idears??

well basically my gf has a automatic 96 cynos, eng:4efe, real peice of sh*t...but I want to do something with the car since she is going to have it for a while. Im new to toyota's but with a little bit of research and surfing the web...Iv found that the 4efte will be(or should be) an easy swap for the present engine in the cynos. I want to know if there is anything else I dunno. any problems I might come across. Also I want to convert to manual so i know id hav to buy the gear box with the engine, so more pointers or problems with installing the gear box would be of much help and appreciation. Thank you.

ps: Still looking for an engine and gear box. would be great if anyone in New Zealand knows where I can pick one up easy. Thanks again!
