Question VP stereo Install what's involved?

Hi there,

My Ex hubby brought me an MP3 CD player for my VP. Now he is gone, Id love to be able to install it. Im good at following instructions (I do have some logic!) but am really clueless on how to get the dash out. I brought a wiring harness for it, but have no idea if it will be self explanitory when i take the old one out, as to where to plug it all in... Any one able to give me some instructions??

Cheers!

Re: VP stereo Install what's involved?

If you have the shop manual for your car that will help. If not, check around the radio area for screws. If you can't see any, pull gently on the plastic to see if it pops off. Once you get that off the radio should be held in by screws. Remove it and there should be a large plug on the back which you need to remove. There should also be a black antenna wire The other end of this plug will be attatched to your car's wire harness. You'll need to unplug it and connect the wires from your new wire harness to the harness that came with your head unit. Solder is the best method, but you can also use wire crimp connectors. The wire harness should have included a sheet that explains what each color is for. Simply match them up, plug the harness back into the car and head unit, and the antenna, reinstall the head unit and plastic.
