Selling my car.

What is it with people? I'm selling a $500 P.O.S. 91 Chevrolet Corsica, 178K, blue with gray spots of primer all over it on the rust spots, no hub caps, may need a motor mount... The only thing it has going for it is that it is inspected until July.

I must have dealt with 10 potential buyers by now. Of the ones that don't stand me up when they say they are comming to look at it, they all want to make payments, have a warranty, or want me to hold the thing until the first of the month(probably when the welfare check comes).

It is a $500 beater that has at least 8 months of life left in it, maybe more if they want to take a chance runnning it through state inspection. People act like they are looking at a late model car at the dealership.

I'm ready to just drive it to the junk yard, get $75 and be done with it.

yeah, payments on 500, it is hard to believe. I've never heard of a private party sale that finances. I guess these morons just throw crap and see what sticks and what they can get away with.

Probably want to give you like 50 down and you sign the car over and you never see them again.

I don't live in a bad neighborhood, but I live along a road which the residents of a not so nice section a few miles up travel on.

Damn, who pissed in your wheaties today? $500 is NOT a lot of money. YOu know what to expect when you see an ad for a $500 car. You don't make a stink that it's a piece of junk. You don't ask to make goddamn payments.

If this car is on its last legs and nobady wants it, just get rid of it. You can do what my dad did with his '78 Thunderbird after 20 years and 260k miles and take it to your local fire department and donate it for a fire drill. You may even ba able to get a tax deduction out of it.

he said he's happy to take $75 from a junkyard for it. yet complains that people would pay $500 for it. if was happy to junk my car for $75, and someone offered me $500 for it, they can have it. i think it's stupid to complain that you could get $425 morethan you'd accept for it.

Car is sold! So instead of 75, now I got 500. that is $425 of found money.

The 8 months of time left on the inspection sticker was worth it for him.

THAT is why I didn't just send it to the junk yard right away.
