Fluorescent yellow paint...HELP!!
I am building a Honda RC211V (Valencia version), and it requires the use of Tamiya´s MS-10 Fluorescent yellow paint.
I live down in Mexico City, and down here is impossible to find that paint. I used Policarbonate paint over tamiya´s primer, but when I applied tamiya´s clear coat, it dried flat... Then I used Gunze Fluorescent yellow (acrylic) but after 15 days the darn paint was still tacky!! Back to the starting point... Now, I think I must find the MS-10 paint somewhere, but I don´t know a place that is willing to ship spray paints to Mexico City. Any help will be VERY appreciated!! |

They ship basically anywhere. I've heard of a guy in Greenland who gets stuff shipped to him from Japan, where they're located. |

Sam, you airbrush your models?
Contact Steve at www.hiroboy.com and see if he can mix up the original color for you. Just a suggestion. PS I'm getting into Aston and Lambo mode (slowly)

Re: Fluorescent yellow paint...HELP!!
I used the Polycarbonate paint and once dry clear coated it. Try a few more clear coats then let it really dry out before polishing?

Re: Fluorescent yellow paint...HELP!!
Parma's Fasklolor is supposed to be a 'universal' paint, for Lexan R/C car bodies and plastic models, so you could give that a try. I'm told it is just the craft paint Createx, with or without a flex agent to keep it from flaking off the flexibile Lexan bodies, depending on whom you believe.
http://www.parmapse.com/fas1.html It is very thick, and will dry flat, do you'll have to thin it and clear coat it. It's also an acrylic, but they SAY that spray paints will work over it (They recommend backing them up with regular R/C spray paints, which are lacquer-based, in order to seal them from the fuel used in gas cars). |
