Official Product Review Thread

Bought something new and worked well for you or didn't work at all? Write up a review on it here so someone else can take advantage of it or not make the same mistake you did.....I know Cody will be posting about the Nology hotwires lol and of course possibly post some pics of the wires

But anyway, I was planning on buying the shift boot and e-brake boot from A+Performance, I purchased the shift boot and planned on getting the ebrake boot later, but apparently A+ was having problems with their embroiderer and now the boots are not available on their site. So, I went searching on the almighty eBay of course and I stumbled upon these 2 tone e-brake boots going for $10 with free shipping, now they're going for $4.99 + $4.95 shipping, but it's still $10. I figured I'd share with you guys because the boots from A+ were going for around $25 and these are $10 and they look pretty damn cool IMO especially that cheap so here they are and here's the eBayer's store link in case you guys are interested ....

Re: Official Product Review Thread

Well lets make sure that doesn't happen, it's a simple concept people, you get a part or you try something new and if it works or doesn't work for you, post it and if something didnt work then post something constructive to help figure out why it didn't work.

I actually bought one of those, cuz I hated seeing my shifter column thing, and..since it's just for looks...and it's on an automatic...I guess it's working out pretty good for me, lol.

Re: Official Product Review Thread

Well since i need to hold my status of post whore, here you go.

Nology Hotwires = For the time being, I am going to continue to call them absolute junk! However, the misfire may actually not be related to them. I will edit this post if i deem it other wise and change my opinion. I found some thing while tearing my car apart the past 2 days that may be the culprit.

MSD Coil pac = The bomb digity. Cleaned up my idle and made car run crazy.

Pacesetter Armor coated header
= Very nice improvement for top end, quality control was lacking on the O2 bung, but a pick took care of that.

RD Fabs CAI = You already know the quality behind that puppy, don't mind the finger prints on it, normally she's blingin but that was during the exhaust install.

Optima Red top - 720 CCA, starts the car right up in like no time. Looks pretty too.

Magnaflow High flow 2.5" cat
- Umm... seems to be working just fine and dandy, not throwin any cel's or causing my O2 sensor to say something is wrong.

RD Fabs Full 2.5" SS exhaust
- Simply tits

Magnaflow Mirror finish Mufflers - Sound great, but need a resonator. This is probably due to the header install and its a notorious fact that one is needed.

KYB AGX adjustable struts/ Eibach Prokit progressive lowering springs
- It can be what ever you want it to be. Soft or firm. I love the option on riding however i like, but for me i like a nice stiff ride. Put the car more agressivly lower but not to the point of sacrificing performance. It keeps the A-arms parrallel which is ideal.

Prothane Lower engine mount/ Upper mount insert
- Made the engine give off more vibs and i did notice a little quicker movment and there is zero engine movment on a load.

Prothane Control arm bushings- My front end is nice and stiff in corners, oh yea you can feel them at work. Install was a pain in the ass on my own, but well worth it.

BAER DECELA rotors and HAWK HPS pads- This combination STOPS the car, not just slow it down. I've had my ABS kick in a couple time where before it never would. I love em!

Jbody Source Euro black 2000-02 headlights w/ corners ( headlight conversion)- they look great, i had to seal them with black silicone becuase they fogged in the corner a little bit. / Headlight conversion was quite simple, but figureing out the DRL and blowing fuse issue was a pain in the ass, but in the end... totally worth it.

RKSPORT TYPE- J body kit- Fitment is top notched, nearly no problems compared to fiberglass.

Kelly Fierce 225/40zr18 rubber - It has a really high UTQG rating of 380, which usually the higher means longer tread life and harder rubber. Its a brand made by goodyear. Very little road noise, no idea on wet traction since the car hasn't seen rain since last year, but for $441 mount and balance i think it was a steal. No complaints.

Autometer tach adaptor #9117- Works like she is suppose to, and looks great too.
Autometer 2 1/16th tach #1397 - Looks and works well, the solution for those who want a quality tach and not a 5"er.

... I'm sure i missed a bunch, but i am getting bored with this. For the most part that covered the basics.

Re: Official Product Review Thread

Haha heres a good review for everything, "You get what you pay for."

But I feel like pulling a cody, so heres 2 pictures! =P

AEM Cold Air Intake = Great look, slight power improvement, and one helluva sexy sound.

Enkei 17" PKr's = Very nice replacements that will help with the black/white contrast im going for

BFGoodrich G-Force Sport Tires - Hecks lotta traction, with a pfft to those who say we cant push them to their potential on a Cavalier...

Re: Official Product Review Thread

Got one for you.

These peices of rat shit I bought off EBay. BIGGEST DAMN MISTAKE EVER. Supposed to be a mirror and then have two different colors on teh leds, Mine were blue for teh runnig lights and then amber for the turning lights.

1st came with no directions
2nd didn't come with any hardware just the mirrors and teh plates.

Got them all installed just the way they need to be and look halfway decent.
Tested the turn lights and they worked great, turned off the signals and then turned on the headlights and then running lights worked great, kept the running lights on and turn on the hazards lights to see what would happen and POP. The running lights both blew and left black marks on the inside, to this day the turn lights still work but not he running lights. no big thing there but now the plates are separating from the heat and the mirrors that didn't need any paint are fading, biggest pieces of shit.

In other words don't buy off brand M3 mirrors

Re: Official Product Review Thread

Nice idea for a thread, it will be stickyd

Im trying to think of stuff that hasnt been covered yet...

Yanaka Racing Seats- Comfy, will keep you wrapped up in turns. Better not be over like 200 lbs though, otherwise they will get uncomfy in a hurry. Quality is kind of questionable, but for $300 a pair, who can complain.

I guess Ill add more when I think of more.

Please do not dilute this thread with individual brand/speaker/deck audio reviews.
