possible swaps in 85 crx dx?(carbed)

hi, i just got an 85 crx with a carbed 1.5 liter with failing piston rings. it smokes really bad, when its not warmed up, as in can't see the car within one minute of idling. after it warms up the smoke is not that bad. well on to the point, i am thinking about swapping motors as the 58 hp, is not cutting it. what motors will swap in directly. i was thinking zc, d16a6 or similar. is a d16y8 swap possible, i'm not looking to swap in b16 because money is the biggest concern. if i swap in a zc or other d series would i be able to keep the same tranny, or need a new one. i thought all d series motors should swap in, but in an issue of scc, they rate swapping in a d16z6 into an 84-87 crx as very very very difficult, meaning cutting and hacking of engine bay. but isn't zc and d16a6 d series engines. can someone clarify, i know this is alot of questions, thanks alot for any help i can get.

you can put a d16aa from a 86-87 88-89 teg they will bolt right in, but since your car is carbed you have to switch to fi, heres a nice page that tells you alot. http://hybrid2.honda-perf.org/tech/westech.html

wow, great info, so you have to swap alot of things into the crx to make the d16a work. is it true i need the fuel pump, fuel lines, etc. if thats the case, i may just rebuild my engine, since i don't want to put too much money into it. anybody with experience done the swap before. thanks
