Pontiac 6000

Pontiac 6000 LE, 120K Miles. Just recently this thing has been running very ruff , hesitates and has no power on excelleration. Newer plugs and wires as well have been installed. It does it regardless if it's wet outside or not. The strange thing is that if I would gun it, punch it hard, things would clear up for a short time. Any ideas are always appreciated. Thanks, GMB.

Scrap that last remark....." if I would gun it, punch it hard, things would clear up for a short time." Does this sound like injectors going bad? On excelleration, this thing just does not have any power, chugs along and idles like a truck!!

Re: Pontiac 6000

Bingo..........you hit it on the head, AFTER I ENDED UP TAKING IT IN !! Cost my father $243 dollars, {his car} The shop said something about if they would replace one module, there is a chance that it would burn out another one and so on, but lucky for us replacing the one did the trick, for now. How many modules are there on this thing and where are they located. Can I replace them my self if need be next time? Thanks for the help!

You are talking about a COIL. The ignition module is mounted under the 3 coils. Ignition module controls all the coils and each coil controls 2 plugs each.
