I can't believe I'm going to answer this question...
1. You produce less power when you feel that jerk into vtec..a smoother transition at a lower rpm would produce a much smoother curve and produce more power in that transition stage 2. You can control the rpm that vtec engages, do a search around and you will find literally dozens of products to do it. 3. You should feel the vtec engage on a b18c(GS-R), and itll be noticable. If your not feeling/hearing ANYTHING, its most likely not working.

get a turbo and then you wouldn't need vtec
