Talking In Progress Ferrari 250 TR N°14 Winner Le mans

Hello,
As I said in another Topic, I'm new here and this is my first WIP on this Forum.

Here are some pictures of the engine.
It's made with only the kit's parts, at the exception of the gear lever wich I replaced with a needle.
It's painted with Tamiya colors, Gunze.
Washes are made with Artit's oil paint diluted in lighter fuel (Zippo).
Dry brush also with oil paint.

I just beginned to work on the body.

Thank's for your comments and critics.
Sorry for my English..........

Detail on engine is fantastic - wash mixture sounds slightly dangerous - bet you don't smoke while you are painting!

The engine looks fantastic. Great job on the washes and dry-brushing. How long does it take the oils to thouroughly dry?

Hello and thank you for the comments.

The washes dryes quite fast because of the dilution with lighter fuel.
Let us say that about 5 to 10 minutes you can get the excess of.
Otherwise, the oil paint itselfs needs (depending of the weather, of course) 24/48 hours to be thouroughly dry.
Once again, thank you.

Greetings.

Hello again,
This is my last post before my Hollydays.
I first want to thank everybody here at the forum for having a look and taking time to post.
Thank you all.

I worked a little more on the car.
I made the wheels. I first painted all parts in XF16, as all wheel pictures I have from that car are mat, not Shiny Aluminium, so I did the same.
Hole for the valve is made but it is not installed.

A front wheel:

A rear wheel:

I also assembled and painted the brake drums.
Here you have from Left to Right:
Painted+wash / Painted+wash+pastel(black) / Painted+wash+pastel(black)+pastel(rust)

The brake drum on his wheel:
nothing is seen from the effect..........

But I don't mind, I know I've done it, so........

Thank you,
Greetings,

Jamme.

I love the 250TR car!

Your engine detailing is awsome! Beautiful.

I have the Renaissance kit close to the edge of my bench waiting for me but it is a curbside. Is this the MFH kit or a Renaissance kit or.....?

Now we ALL now about the brake drums behnd the wheels

Hello,
It is the Model Factory Hiro kit.
The problem is that this kit is too small in scale.
I also have the renaissance kit.
It is too big in scale.
It lacks also some détail (No drum brakes) and has less dedtail that in the Hiro kit.
I really like Hiro kits (a have a few still to made, 250 GTO,250 TR 58, 512S Coda Longa, 512BB and others; I also have some Renaissance kits and others......( I only built Le Mans Ferraris) and very much Corvettes (my second passion because I had an 1/1 Vette of 1968, I said had.......)
The aftermarket service is quite good for the two brands (Renaissance and Hiro) May be easier for me because I live in europe and know Etienne (renaissance boss) very good, but Mr Hiro is really serious about the problems you should have with his kits.
Thank you for reading this post.
Greetings,
Jamme
