Tunercat Tutorial?
Like it says, anyone know where I'd find one? I mean most of the tables make some sense but some I just get lost by the titles. I just basically need a more lamens termed definition of what each table adjusts.
Thanks, Beene |

Re: Tunercat Tutorial?
There is no tutorial that I know of. Tuning is a very steep learning curve. Which tables did you need help with? And which definition file are you using? I've ben tuning for a few years now and know my way around the programs pretty well.

Re: Tunercat Tutorial?
Well nothing specific, I'm basically just tinkering to find out what does what but I cringe every time I go to flash my car due to all the horror stories I've heard. Lately what I've been doing is comparing 2 files that I know the differences between but I don't really understand why some of the things have been changed. I guess idealy I'd like to be able to fully tune it myself when I install my new heads/cam and such but I would probably need datalogging software?? Know any good free ones?
Thanks, Beene |

Re: Tunercat Tutorial?
Yes, Morley has been in and out of an ECM and PCM or two...
TunerCat might be able to datalog with the right package. If not, you can find quite a few parts, supplies, directions to software, and even some assistance at www.moates.net.

Re: Tunercat Tutorial?
sorry I forgot to put the info of my car. It's a 1995 Formula with an A4. As for tunercat I have:
Tuner 2.11 Checksum 2.11 Cross Dissasembler 1.36 RT Tuner 1.14 TDF Editor 1.78 Caldata 1.08 Compbin 1.31 Hex2bin 1.40 S2bin 1.40 Winflash 2.15 I've played with them all as they were on a disc along with the ECM file in the glovebox when I bought the car but after talking to the original owner he said he bought them but didn't know how to make a cable so he never used any of them. I haven't found and datalogging software anywhere in there though. All I've done with it is load a HPP+ program and adjust my fan temps a little. |

Re: Tunercat Tutorial?
Try here http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=68 for a data logger. You can also try Freescan, here http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=51992 or TTS Data master here http://www.ttspowersystems.com/diagnostic.htm. The first 20 scans on TTS are free then it costs $120.
For a communication cable (laptop to car) check what Craig has on moates.net or check here http://www.aldlcable.com/sc/pages.asp?pageid=20 |
