Question Gas leaking around fuel injector

Hi,
We have a 97 cavalier - 2.2 4 cyl - there is gas leaking around the fuel injector. Right now its a small leak, my husband replaced the gasket/seal and that didn't help it any. Can anyone give us some suggestions on what went wrong - what needs to be done etc? Thank you.
Melissa

Re: Gas leaking around fuel injector

I had a similar prob with my '97 2.2 L. I replaced the seals and it still leaked. I discovered that the injector itsel was leaking. Swap a good injector with the one that is leaking. If the leak stayts with the injector then it is the injector. If it stays with the port then examine the port for physical damage.

I got rpelacment injector at the wreckers. Saved a bit of money and they appear to be okay.

Good luck
