Re: 99 cougar coolant problem

How much coolant are you losing? If it is really coolant coming out of your tailpipe and not water (water is normal, it is a byproduct of the catalytic converter), then you probably have a blown headgasket. What does the oil look like? Chocolate milk? Is your car overheating? Pressure test the cooling system and do a compression check on the motor.

Re: 99 cougar coolant problem

did a compression test on the motor everything seems fine oil and coolant are not mixed in the motor or the resivoir but you can smell its coolant when it smokes

Re: 99 cougar coolant problem

Explain blowing it out the exhaust? Is it smoke coming out? Is it just vapor coming out? Is it actually liquid dripping out of the exhaust? Is your coolant level actually dropping?

Need more details.
