Played around with an '07 Audi RS 4

I was driving down the freeway, stuck in 35mph traffic, when I saw a car fly by me in the carpool lane I'd never seen outside of a magazine or an episode of Top Gear. It was yellow, sporting dealer plates, and it sounded and looked mean as hell. The driver was by himself. Apparently if you can afford that kind of car you can afford a ticket for driving by yourself in the carpool lane. I'm not sure what came over me but without hesitation I jumped into the carpool lane and chased down an '07 Audi RS 4. The driver looked young. Maybe in his early to mid 30's. The car's tags also had the name of an Audi dealership I didn't recognize. Definately from outside the area. It had the phone number of the dealership on it and that area code is definately not inside California. I wonder if this was some sort of demo car. In any event, there wasn't exactly much room to play. I would get on his ass and then he would fly off until he came up on another car, at which point we would both try to find some room to pass via the #2 lane. He would always wait for me to get into his lane again before he got on the gas again.

It's tough to say which car was faster...honestly. I know that those cars are supposedly extremely capable and the 4.2L V8 powering it has over 400hp at the crank. But so does my Evo now. Plus my car isn't nearly as heavy. Off the boost he would always get the jump but once the turbo hit nobody was pulling. If anything I was gaining. Just about the time I thought I was catching up he'd let off and I'd be left wondering what would have happened after another 300 yards.

One thing I gotta tell you guys is that car sounded un-fucking-believable. My lawyer buddy's Porsche 996T has nothing on it. Nor does this guy at my work with an '06 BMW M5. You'd need to find a high revving V12 exotic to one-up the sound that little Audi was making. It's a very crisp, yet very technical sound. It also climbed the power band for days. It may be a V8 but it didn't rev like one. It honestly pulled more like some gutted CRX with a 200whp KA20 then an LS1 powered WS6. If you have a chance to lay eyes on one of these bad boys do exactly what I did. Follow it. That engine sound is better than sex.

very nice, I havn't seen one outside a magazine yet either. I think they are 420 at the crank if I remember correctly. Either way nice race.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
