Sorento Reliability
Hi all I have come here looking for opinions and real world experiences on your Sorento's . Specifically looking on how the reliability has been on your sorento's . I am considering buying either a leftover 2006 for like $18000 or waiting for the 2007's which have a much bigger V6 yet get better mileage than the old V6 . Have there been any constant trouble spots on the vehicles and how is Kia on doing any warranty work on them . The warranty looks good on paper how is it in real life ,do they give you a hard time about fixing things . Actually will be looking at a couple of different kia models , will also look at the Sedona both the LWB and the new SWB version , think the Rondo is a little too small for me but I will look . Thanks for any input . Really like the looks of the Sorento though , it will probably come down to between the sorento and the new Suzuzki XL7 . Also does anyone know if the V6's they use have a timing belt or chain ? Don't really want to get into changing a timin belt every 70000 miles for like $400 or would that fall under the 100000 mile warranty ? Belts are not usually covered under warranty .

Re: Sorento Reliability
We've had our '05 Sorento since December '05 and have only had one minor problem. The switch in the power driver's seat went bad and had to be replaced. It didn't cost us anything to have it fixed. It is very durable as we did wrech it only a couple of weeks after we first purchased it and everyone walked away uninjured. It has plenty of power and the 4 wheel drive is excellent. So I would definately recommend purchasing one, especially if they are putting a 3.8 in them now. The last person to respond before me said their Sorento was a diesel. Where do to get a Sorento diesel? Must be outside of the U.S. Good Luck.
