Ferrari 288 GTO

This is the Fujimi 1/24 288 GTO. My favorite ferrari of all time.
Enjoy.

Building another one in 1/16th.

Re: Ferrari 288 GTO

Nice build! My favorite, too (well, except maybe for the 355 GTS). This is the Enthu kit they rereleased a year or so ago? I've got one in my stash, waiting patiently until I am confident that I am well and truely worthy.

But next time, how about posting the actual pics instead of the thumbnails? All your pics are reasonably sized- don't make us click for them.

Better!

I love the pic of the 1/24 with the 1/16 engine.

Re: Ferrari 288 GTO

Awesome build!

Can we get outside pictures?

And PS, the A pillar is supposed to be black IIRC. I have no idea why, but it is like that.

I know, but I like color on the A-pillar. Just my taste.

Is that A pillar made of some special material on the real car? I don't know why is black on the real car.

Question to hardcore ferrari friend:

On the front black bumper. Does the signal light orange section go on the outboard or inboard? I saw some on the outboard, some on the inboard.

Re: Ferrari 288 GTO

I believe I've only seen the orange lights outboard- even on the handfull of US spec 288's. There were so few made I'm surprized there would be any variation, with the possible exception of a prototype or two.

Re: Ferrari 288 GTO

Superb job you've done! This kit really is a bit challenging but I think it catches 288GTO's looks perfectly. I see you even made the pop-up head lights work

The owner's manual shows the orange turning light section on the outside.

Re: Ferrari 288 GTO

Maybe it is up to the owner. This one has it on the inboard.

Re: Ferrari 288 GTO

I guess it wouldn't really suprise me if the turn signals could be installed backwards (or upside down). That's the sort of detail you would never notice unless you were building a model....

Re: Ferrari 288 GTO

Clean build, haven't seen one made for a while now. It's a personal favourite for me as well, I can recall that the GTO was one of the first sucessful model I had built and put gold wheels in for fun .
