Cool Transmission Fluid Overflowing From Tube

On my 01' jimmy, I seem to have an intermittent transmission fluid overflow problem coming out of an overflow tube above the gear-shift cable.

I've noticed driveway drip spots on 3 occasions in the last week or so.

I took these pictures to show you what I'm talking about. Any ideas?

What is the service history on transmission?
How much is it leaking?
Is transmission heating up or slipping or shifting rough?
What transmission fluid are you using in it?
Any towing in overdrive?

Re: Transmission Fluid Overflowing From Tube

It's a 2001 with 106k miles. Service history is a flush and filter service at 56k miles. No rough shifting, but I think there is a very random slip. A couple times a month while cruising on the highway, I'll feel a slight jolt, but the engine RPMs don't change. The dealer said everything checked out.

The overflow is more like drops. I once had a puddle about 6 inches wide, but normally just an inch or so.

I checked the levels today and they were fine, though I noticed some bubbles in the fluid on the stick...

Silppage can cause overheating.
The most likley cause of fluid coming out the vent.
You may need to check fluid and filter again and see if anything is in the bottom of pan.
A good repair shop can run a transmission scanner check on it and check for slippage and overheating and other problems.
Good Luck
