I have a 1998 neon, Single OHC, Automatic, with the radiator fan not coming on. The check engine light came on and it read that the relay was bad, I replaced the realy and temp sensor, fan is still not working. I then replaced the computer with one from a used auto parts junkyard and the fan is still not coming on. If I power the fan directly it works.
Any thoughts and help is appreciated. Thanks! Last edited by evt4; 09-23-2006 at 06:22 PM. |

Which relay did you replace and where was it located?

Re: 1998 Neon Rad Fan not coming on
I replaced the solid state relay under the battery and the fuse I checked is in the relay compartment. Am I missing a fuse?

Re: 1998 Neon Rad Fan not coming on
You got all of them. Check the wiring now...you may have an expose wire shorting something out.

Re: 1998 Neon Rad Fan not coming on
I had the same problem turns out it was a bad ground wire. It is located all the way up on the drivers side corner located right above the compter. There should be 4 wires going to 2 spade connectors. One wire is your fans, one is wipers, one is AC and I forget what the other is. Hope this may help.
