hey all, i found a 89-91 civic cluster with a tach in it at the wreckers. There are a few wires different in the plugs, would i have to rewire these to make it fit?? Or can i go straight ahead and plug them in?

This is asked all the time, I'm sure you could find stuff using Search. But I'll help ya out anyway... the cluster isn't an 88-91, it's either 88-89 or 90-91. If yours is the same group as the one you found, it will plug right in and the tach will work. If you have a 90-91 and the cluster is an 88-89 or vice versa, you'd have to swap the plastic housing and do some rewiring to make it fit and work.

Yea, I just went and did this. If you have the money and a place to get a 90-91 cluster, go sell yours, switch it or something and get the 90-91, they look better in the car, because they will actually fit. But if you are like me and don't have the money or a place to get a 90-91 cluster, you can check out my site, http://www.geocities.com/twisted91civic/ , I have a wiring diagram up there for switching them.
