97 200SX SE Throwout Bearing (1.6)

I just picked up this car and when I depress the clutch I feel a little play and hear noise from the throwout bearing. I don't suppose this can be greased without removing the transmission?

Not too familiar with these Nissans yet, an old GM guy.

Thanks!

nope. its easy to drop the tranny though. you dont even need a lift. ive done it with a floor jack and 2 jack stands. lower it out the bottom supported by a floor jack, then replace whatever you need. its just like a rwd transmission but is smaller, has a smaller bellhousing, and bolts to the back of the motor(which is sideways). you may have to remove some piece of subframe to get it down, and you will have to pop at least one axle out, but otherwise its pretty straightforward.
