95 Calais 3.1 FI - High Rev ???
I've looked, but could not find a similar problem.
When the car (95 Cutlass Calais 3.1 Lt FI) is started it imediately goes to an extremely high rev, I mean it screams. Not only occurs when idling but also while driving, the car will go over 70 MPH without touching the throttle. I replaced the Idle Air Control Valve last year and it did help but the problem is back. I tested the sensor with an Ohm Meter and it tested OK, (the measurment was also under 1 1/8"). There is another sensor directly below the IAC (throttle position sensor?) on the throttle body, which when unplugged does slow down the idle. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, I'm stumped. Re: 95 Calais 3.1 FI - High Rev ???
If you dont hav any vacum leaks, test the TPS.
Alot of the times when its unpluged and the idle drops the TPS is going bad.
