1994 Transport Electrical problem

Friday, ignition key cylinder would not turn. It was stuck. After playing with the key and moving it back & forth, I was able to turn the ignition key and van started. However the ABS light stays on, no gauges work, nothing electrical works..
Sunday, brought the van to firestone. The ignition was still hard to turn, but the van turned on but still had the same problems as before.
Firestone replace the ignition cylinder. After starting the van, the ABS light was still on but anything electrical still did not work and the sliding door light is now on.
Firestone looked at the van again and fixed the sliding door light coming on.
However I was told everything is okay but ABS light is still and is probably a sensor needing to be replaced by the dealer.
As I was attempting to drive off, I still had the same problems as before, nothing electrical work, no windows, no acceleration, no gauges.

Firestone did diagnostics test on the van and no error codes or fault codes came up on the scanner.

Can any one help since at this point firestone does not know what the problem is???? They tend to think it is electrical.

Re: 1994 Transport Electrical problem

I do not know what Firestone did with the "ignition cylinder" but as you point out, all problems seems to come from the ignition switch. THis is not first time such event comes on this forum however I do not remember the victim to have come back with the solution.
TO me, this is an ignition switch problem, until proven otherwise. The ignition switch is a four gang contactor...so if one of the gangs goes haywire, a lot of wierd consequences follow.
Here is a diagram: I hope it can help do some tests and pinpoint what wokrs and what does not.
