Out of curiousity.......
Just curious, seen a few people on here who say they don't have a cat converter, just wondering what O2 sensor simulator is used and maybe some details on how a no-cat setup is done on our vehicles. Thanx in advance

Re: Out of curiousity.......
those o2 sims really don't work, they still trow a code because the 02 sensor has to be a certain temp, or something like that

Re: Out of curiousity.......
Huh, cause if a code still gets thrown from the post-cat O2 sensor, doesn't that affect how the computer calculates the air/fuel ratio? And for inspection's sake, there must be a way that people do this in order to keep that SES light from comin on and raisin questions. Reason I'm askin so much about this is I'm trying to get a mental plan/layout for my exhaust upgrade, and if I can just take the cat outta the picture I'd be just happy. Thanx for any help

Re: Out of curiousity.......
I hear ya, I got buddies that do inspection, but I'm tryin to avoid havin to pull the friend card to get my sticker. If in the end there's not an efficient or effective way to do a no-cat setup then it'll be time to look at high-flow cats. Ppreciate the responses yall, any more thoughts on the subject?

Might just want to save yourself all the hassel and just go with a highflow cat like you said.

Re: Out of curiousity.......
teh bad part about no cat is that you could fail the visual test that alot of states do, that is the way mo is but i don't have to do shit here in IL so i am not completly sure on all the rules

Re: Out of curiousity.......
being from nebraska, i know NOTHING about emmisions, but im pretty sure no matter what, if you dont have a catylic converter, you're gonna fail, isnt that a common sense thing?? arent you gonna be blowing all sorts of toxins and shit out your exhaust without a cat?? dont they hook something up to your exhasut pipe to test that???
and from what ive heard, the high flow cats are pretty much identical to having NO cat, performance wise...

Re: Out of curiousity.......
Most states if you have OBD2 on your vehicle don't do a "sniffer". They simply look at the dash for your light, if it ain't on then they figure everything is working and emitting just fine due to in OBD2 they started puting O2 sensor post-cat and a couple other things for emission-test purposes. I think what I settled on was just doing a good heade[b]r[b], straight 2.5 back to a high flow, and 2.5 to a resonator and then to a muffler. Should work out fine, try to keep the bends down to a bare minimum.
