95 Front end sags
Replaced the shocks. Took it to a front end shop and was told it needed a idler arm and pitman rod. No mention of weak springs. Any advise on how to check this at the house. Never held of springs going bad? How hard/easy to change out the pitmanrod/idler arm?

Re: 95 Front end sags
Front shocks have nothing to do with ride height. If the front is sagging, only the springs could be at fault, assuming you have not put low-profile tires on it. I have a '93 with 114,000 miles and have seen dozens of others with original springs not sagging significantly. Why don' t you check ride height vs. another Roadmaster? Springs are not expensive to replace, but not very likely the problem--if you do have a problem.

Re: 95 Front end sags
in case of these cars, it doesnt take a long time for the springs to start sagging. Of the items you listed, none are going to effect ride height. Sagging springs will though.

Re: 95 Front end sags
I would check the parts they said was bad. Block the rear wheel have someone turn the wheel back and forth while watching with a flashlight. You will notice excessive slop if worn. Auto Zone has a tool loaner program. They would loan you spring compressors. I would change the springs at the same time. I think GM uses weak springs to give a soft ride.
