is it worth it 88 crx
I own an 88 Honda crx hf, and it's a nice car. I was looking into suspension parts for the car and some companies only provided kits for 89 and newer models. Is there really a difference between 88 and newer crxs. So I was thinking about putting suspension from an 89 crx si into it. Is it worth it or should I just buy a newer crx. The reason im asking is that I got the car for free, and most crxs near where I live have had them run in to the ground or they want $3000 for them. I have another question I think the crx comes with rear drum brakes and I would like to switch to disc brakes all around for the track, is it possible to swap the rear control arm, and the master cylinder and brake booster form a newer integra.

Re: is it worth it 88 crx
suspension parts wise the only differnce is the lower control arm, the 89+ has eyelet shocks, the 88s have a bracket style. Most of the good companys make them for the 88s, but if you want you can just swap out the lower control arm- it will bolt right on. Yes the 90-91 crx si's rear disc will bolt on, as will the 91+ integra rear disc - they are the exact same, no differnce at all. You can swap the entire trailing arm, or just the spindle, I just changed the spindle on mine. You will need emergency brake cables from a crx, you can use teg ones but they're longer so you have to poke them up under your gas tank or something (not a problem, just telling you). Yes the larger master cylinders and boosters from the newer tegs will fit, but which ever you use both need to be either abs or non abs, you cant mix them.

Re: is it worth it 88 crx
why would you even want to swap to abs? that would require alot of work, new brake lines, the abs module, wiring, findind a place to mount the module, fuck that. And you dont want your abs going nuts on the track.
also dont forget you need the prop valve from the integra or crx si or else your brakes will be very hard.
