Question Speedometer & Odometer

Just curios I have an 01 Xterra and about a year ago the Odometer & Speedometer stopped working. The odometer stopped at 83K. When I replace the part for the odometer will it reset to the actual mileage or stay at 83K?
Thanks in advance....

Re: Speedometer & Odometer

The odometer reading is stored in a chip in the cluster itself, you'll have to have it programmed by a dealer.
