1987 BMW 325i VS 1995 Ford Probe Gt

Well heres how it goes. My buddy just bought a bmw and theres this kid in town with the probe. Now he put a better trans in it and a CAI with an exhaust. Now we went out to the 1/4 Mile more like half mile though. Started from a stop and the flagger said go!! The 325 spun but had the probe till third then the probe smoked the bmw.

Now the only way i seen the probe winning is cuz there was 3 people in the 325 and just one in the probe. The 325 also has blown struts and almost bald tires so that prolly played a really big role.

We should vote this for shortest race story on AF...

Good race...

Re: 1987 BMW 325i VS 1995 Ford Probe Gt

bald tires and blown struts play absolutely no role once the cars are going. So losing a race in third gear with such low powered cars cannot be blamed on that. The extra weight couldn't have helped, but more likely the probe just had a better thrid gear. I don't know a ton about an 87 3 series, but I doubt it was all that much faster than a 95 probe to begin with...add in the fact that its 2 decades old...

I don't see why this is really that much of a surprise.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

No the Probe GT's were V6 the normal ones were 4 cylinders.

I'll tell you why the probe won, It has more power and is lighter. The 87 BMW 325 had 127hp out of a 2.7 while the Probe has 164hp out of it's 2.5

That year didnt have the turbos, they stopped producing the turboed ones after 93

I remember because the 94 was compared with my old celica since both models were redesigned at the same time.
And even so, the LX was the turbo one not the GT.

Hence why I replied ricers comment "didn't all Probe GT's have turbo" and I said "Only first gens".......

the GT's were turbo, the LX had n/a 2.2L...
