91 thunderbird "super coupe"

i found this one ford thunderbird with 155,000 miles on it, the guy says it needs some repair on the exterior. since its s/c im drawn to it, even though its a 91 ford (everyone keeps trying to convince me that theyre shit). im just trying to figure out whether thats true or not and exactly what other problems, engine, tranny, and the rest of the car, that i might have problems with. the guy wants $975 for it cash only which kinda raises a red flag with me, but im stupid and still want it. help me please

Automatic or 5-speed? I got a 90SC, with 170,000miles, earlier this year and had to rebuilt AOD into it. Its not real pretty on the outside either but it runs fine.

its a five speed, and im not really concerned with looks, it actually contributes to a sorta sleeper look. so thiers really nothing wrong with the engine? good to know, but im wondering if the 5 speed will hold or if i would have to rebuild or replace. thanks for the input.

No need to worry about the 5-speed, it will hold.
Engine is good, rods and pistons are forged.
Super charger snout seal leaks are common. Super charger oil is expensive.

There is a good article on the Super Coupe Club of IOWA site that can help with "What to Look For" ........ Here is the link: http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...uyingtips.html

BTW, I have a few SC's (see my sig below) and I haven't had to many problems with any of them. The main thing is to do the required maintanance and do drive it with the peddle on the floor all of the time .......... NO car can take that!!!!

im guessing you mean "dont" drive with the peddle to the floor full time. my driving on legal roads is too relaxed for that. but then again im not sure whatd id do with power like that...
