How do u get the crank *sproket* off?!?

Allright so i got the whole motor apart except for the crankshaft out and the front main seal cover off. The only reason there both not off is cuse i cant get the f*kin crank sproket off!! Ive been hearing to stick a 1/2 inch breaker bar in the large apparnt bolt and try to take the bolt out... so i tried, tried so hard i feel like im about to break the crank... should i try harder? no chance im gonna break that crank right? and suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Re: How do u get the crank *sproket* off?!?

blowtorch it. There is a variant of loc-tite in there which will melt if you heat it enough

that fucker is a pain though, I put a 5 foot breaker bar on that and couldn't get it off. Heated it and it still took some torque but it gets off

I just use a gear puller that threads on to the threads of the sprocket.
