Need answers on this engine fast plz!!! thanx
Well my friend went and picked up a engine today for his talon, we are only like 40 minutes from montreal so it was a breeze to get there. Now i was not with him i had to work
 When he pulled in my driveway tonight i said oh shit the fuckin guy lied to me on the phone!!! I asked the guy if it was a 2g 7 bolt and he said yes. Anyways the website says 94-99 7 bolt well i believe its a 94 7 bolt and he is fucked correct? I have a few pics to show you all 1st up is the oil filter assy, can that be changed to the 2g easy? or is it easy enough to use that one? 2nd picture is just a shot of the engine.   Also here is the website where he got it from. I am calling the company back tomarrow and let them know the situation we have here. Oh when my friend got there today he said the warehouse is full of engines and eclipse, talon, civic and some other shit. http://www.japandomesticmotor.com/en...ame=Mitsubishi Its the bottom engine

Looks like a 95+ 4g63 that they put an external oil cooler housing on... Whats wrong with that? Is he putting this into a 2g or was he wanting a 6 bolt swap into a 2g?

He is putting it in his 2g, and i do not believe its 95+ you cannot really see it from the picture but it has the black top 1g cas on it. The intake is was different, also the throttle body only has one nipple comming out of it and there is no place at all to put a egr valve, it does not even exist!!!
Did you look at the website? EDIT* also look how the bov is set up, thats the correct way it sits, the hoses are formed that way. And look at the turbo, its not a 14b it looks like one from the picture but its not.

I looked at the website and it was pretty much useless... I'm sticking with it being a 95+ motor... Maybe its a 4g63 motor from something other than a DSM, thus being the reason for a different intake and TB...

did you click to blow up the pic? if not try that, also there is no crank sensor on this engine. But that would not be a prob i can wire the 1g cas in and change the injector pins at the ecu.

JDM engines from japan have no egr valve hook up at all, could this possibly be a jdm? how can i tell besides if it had a red valve cover.

I would almost bet money that its an evo 3 motor, man. They were only produced in japan which means no emmisions, they use that funky ass intake system and have the evo 3 16g so it looks like a 14b but not exactly like it

Nice!!! Those are 6 bolts too arent they? Atleast they dont have CW problems do they? Let me dig up a link for ya...
NM, hes basically doing an Evo III swap on a 95 galant. Hes got all the shit coming too, front clip, rearend, etc. Sounds like its going to be a legal Evo III, AWD, RHD and everything.

 Build on hold until I get a good paying job, either in school or once I get out. At that time a full tear down and complete rebuild should be in order. The Purple People Eater will ride again... January 2011 can't come soon enough.
