1999 cherokee cold starting problem
I have a 1999 cherokee that doesn't want to start when it's cold. The motor will barly turn over an the car will not start until you give it gas. once started it will not idle. after 5 min. of keeping it running it will idle fine. After warming up it will start and idle with no problem. If it sets for about 3 or 4 hours i'll have the same problem. Any ideals?

Re: 1999 cherokee cold starting problem
Welcome to automotive forums. Have you checked the battery and had it tested to make sure it's good it almost sounds like it's a problem with the battery that it's not putting out the current it needs to when it's cold. If the battery checks fine if you have another car and battery available then take the battery out of it and put it in your jeep as sometimes the battery testers at autozone and such aren't 100% reliable. If that checks fine then take a look at the plug wires, distributor, and ignition coil to make sure nothings cracked, cut, or loose and also check the connections for the battery that the power and ground are connected good and if it's like mine check the engine to chassis ground too.
