420a bottom pully

i used the special chrysler puller and everything but its not quite long enuff. its still pressed on about 1/4 of an inch if that and i cant get it off for shit i've pried and pried. anyone else ever ran into this problem and if so how the hell did you get it off

I have this problem every time I pull it off. What I end up doing is threading in a longer bolt into the hole that sticks out like 1/2" or so and then use the puller. I never use the special chrysler one though so I'm not sure exactly how it works, but if it's like any other puller you should have no problem with using a longer bolt.

have a 95 eclipse - have had my pulley off several times - I put a center punch I have shortened into the bolt hole of the crank and as the top of the punch is square, I put a socket on the end so the threaded bolt from the pulley goes into the socket and it will not try to slide off. this will allow you to get additional leverage to get it off. I use a 3 jaw craftsman puller.

Ok heres how i did it, I got a piece of a metal rod, 1/4in i think and cut several different sizes and slide them in where the bolt goes so not only was i using the threads to push against but the rod too and when the threads wouldn't reach i just pushed against the rod.

I broke about 6 pullers to get mine off. Fun stuff.
