Is there a trick?

I love to drive the mustang but hate to clean it. I have been washing and waxing this thing for over 2 years now and I haven't found a trick to it. It seems that as much as I dry it there is always more water coming from behind the pannels, scoops, and other parts. What an annoyance. It seems that by the time it drys out its about time to wash it again.

I have'nt found any tricks yet. You mean you cant get in the small places to dry off the car after you're done washing it?

No, the water just keeps coming out haha. All the major surfaces will be dry but there is still water trickling out of cracks here and there.

Re: Is there a trick?

My only advice is to hit the highway as soon as you finish washing the vehicle. I usually go out, tromp on it a bit and drive for a mile or two, this lets most of the water blow out of the crevaces. You really don't even have to dry it off...most of the water will blow off. Then you can detail it without worrying about getting spots.

If you have an air compressor use a air gun to shoot the water out pay attention to your mirrors and all along the front and back bumper. The mustang is one of the worst cars about hiding water.

Re: Is there a trick?

You must have the newest generation mustang. They are a pain in the butt. Even when you are done drying all the surface panels, it's still hiding about gallon of water just to piss you off!
I use de-ionized water, so waterspots from leftover water are not a problem. I would use either a air compressor, or use a shop-vac and attatch the hose to the out instead of the in. Just make sure you thoroughly clean the vac and hose first.

I still believe that that is too much work. After washing, go out on the highway, tromp on it and drive for a couple of miles. Most of the water will blow out (if it's warm enough, it'll dry). Then you can wax/polish without worrying about where the water is hiding!
