Rpm Problems

I own a 00 taco with 250,000 miles on it. Just had it serviced 2 weeks ago, and toyota said everything was great. Today at each stop light something different happened. First I stopped and the engine rpms were about 400-600 and it started shaking like it was about to die. Then I was getting off the freeway and put it in neutral (stick) and the rpms started going up and down up and down, from about 500-1700... Then sometimes I would stop at a light and the rpms are sitting at about 1700 and if I put the ac on they are still about 1500. I do not know whats wrong with it.... any ideas? Also it seems like when I let off the gas, it jerks alot more then it did, I know it is a stick and thats what it does, but it makes a bigger jerk then usual. Any help is great.

Re: Rpm Problems

Check for intake and vac leaks. The easiest way to do this is to spray a can of ether near the lines. If there is a leak The ether will find its way into the intake and the engine will idle up.
