Looks like a great start and you have learned some skills. Wheel choice is hard to say I like the biggest set on the far right, but it depends on what your plans are for the overall car. Welcome to AF and looking forward to more updates.

Mike.

Hmm, for a first real model, I'd say things are looking good. I've always been a fan of the stock RX-7 wheels, but you've got that GT wing so it might look better with the far-right wheels (the biggest ones).

Whatever you pick, good luck!

Re: Tamiya Rx7 R1 *new modeller*

quick update

did some work on interiors and managed to finish it. not a impressive job, but i believe with the "to be" tinted windows, hopefully it will hide my many mistakes.. =) managed to put on first coat of body paint, and polished a little. hopefully my final shine will b as beautiful as this shine..

cheers

now: dry fitting.. this would roughly be what the completed model look like...

And the polishing work on roof only..

Will finish up w body work before heading down to engine bay and undercarridge...=)

THANKS FOR VIEWING! *Cheers!*

to be frank... those aren't xactly black lights.. haha. i actually did not do too good a job painting the red and orange clear sections.. so i thought of spraying a thick layer of smoke on to the outsides. i actually sticked some glossy paper at the insides of the tailamps.. will find a day w good sunlight and display another pic of it.. u could actually see the red and orange when its bright enough.. =) oh well, nex project will incorporate real working lights. hopefully it will turn out well.

Re: Tamiya Rx7 R1 *new modeller*

That's nice. I'm doing the same model. I did a little bit of custom work though. This is the first time I do something like this. I still need to route the lines for the oil coolers and some other stuff. I think is coming along fine. The body I'm going to paint it Competition Yellow Mica.

The beauty and the beast?! hehehehe, your RX7 it's the beast! (in the good sense)
Looks very nice! You did an awesome job on your paint! If you compare the paint of your car body with the paint of my car body, you will be scared. Your paint job is awesome.
Good luck on these, and in the next jobs!

Great work so far! New modeler or not, that's coming together great! Keep it up, and share your progress. Your spoiler looks excellent, and the taillights really look like that on an FD. Black until they light up or unless the light catches them just right. I see only a few mistakes, but they are the sort that are pretty unavoidable until you have a few models worth of practice under your belt. Keep it up!
