Suspension problem
I got 17s on my civic sedan. Tire size 215/45/R17 on a stock suspension.
I love the look, but the problem is that I cant carry passengers because the back starts rubbing really bad. If i carry one passenger, every little bump in the road causes rubbing. Its bascially impossible to drive havin a person in the front, and 1 in the back. There nothing really in my trunk expect for a dual 12" box. I know 17s are kinda big for a civic, but it shouldnt be rubbing soooo bad. Is it because my shocks are worn out? And if i put on coilover springs, would it help solve the problem? I rather not resort to rolling the fenders. |

Re: Suspension problem
If you use coilovers and lower the car it'll only make it worse. 17's are just too big for the car and it really isnt the supsensions fault. I wouldnt go higher than 15's maybe 16s max on a civic.

Re: Suspension problem
The problem is the offset. Every rim is a little different. It is possible to fit 17's on a Civic. Are you sure those are 17's? The side wall of the tire seems a little big. Looks like a 16" rim. Offset is measured in mm.

Re: Suspension problem
They same problem happened to me. I have 18's on my civic. 215/35/18 and they rubbed really bad. But I have tokico blue coilovers now with tein S. tech springs and they dont rub at all. I didnt lower them all the way but just enough to give it that lowered look. I can get a picture for you if you want
