i have a 1992 Ford Taurus SHO and i was at my work the other day replacing most of the fluids and i was about to change my manual transmission fluid also but couldnt find the dip stick or the pan underneath the car itself, now im wondering if the car even has tranny fluid...i would think so but if anyone knows if there is one could they let me kno in or around what general area it would be in, that would be a great help for me thanks =)

As for the SHO the dip stick is located under the hood, most likely near the brakefluid resvoir. (right side of the engine bay towards the firewall). There will either be a plug in the tranny pan or you will be required to remove the transmission pan all together. |

Re: transmission help plz!
Since you mention that your SHO has the manual transmission, you probably won't find a dipstick or a pan. Many manual transmissions do not have either. Instead, you will have a drain plug low on the transmission housing and a fill plug, very similar in size to the drain, a few inches higher on the transmission.
Before removing the drain plug, make sure you can find the fill plug and can get it loose. You don't want to drain the fluid only to find you cannot get the fill plug loose! Check the manual and make sure you fill the transmission with the proper fluid. -Rod |
