Dakota has no power and runs rough

I have a 2004 Dakota 4x4. I was driving home from work and had a serious loss of power suddenly. Now the truck acts like it wants to die when it is stopped and has no power. Thought maybe there was water in the gas I bought that morning. Bad gas gone and used fuel additives to try and clean out the system. Runs a little better now but still not like it use to. Been told everything from O2 sensors to catalytic convertor to fuel filter. No engine light on so I have no clue...please help!

Re: Dakota has no power and runs rough

ok well i had read that post of urs wrong but anyways just thought of somthing else because mine had a problom like this too well it was similar the power from my motor would cutout once and a while so it seemed like somthing was holding it back but i took it to a dealer mechanic and he said it was some bad plugs and he replaced all the fuses and plugs and it worked better than it had ever.

It has taken a turn for the worse...won't start...think its a bad starter...don't know if the problems are related though.

I would change the fuel filter. Does it act like lack of fuel or like bad plug wires.
When was a tune up done bad plugs and wires will definately cause problems.
Check dist cap and rotor.
Do these normal maint items first. The dealer would do all this before checking computer controls.
