Jeep Hood Vent Question

I noticed on my Jeep Cherokee Sport Yr. 2000 that hood vent holes below
wiper area are closed up on passenger side and open on drivers side?
Arn,t these vents supposed to be open for outside air flow?
Their held in place by phillips screws.

Re: Jeep Hood Vent Question

My 92 is the same way. I took the cover off to see what's under it and under the passenger side that's closed off it looks as if that's where part of the heater core and blower assembly is as all that runs over there is a hose for the passenger side washer nozzle.

Re: Jeep Hood Vent Question

Thanks for the comeback. Apparently this is a normal thing to be.
I do know one thing' the vents on these Jeeps don,t pass to much outside air when in vent select. All I get is hot engine air even when outside air is cooler. Gotta go got a dental appt. Thanks again.

Re: Jeep Hood Vent Question

You are right...not much air flow or "fresh" air. Usually you get a bunch of diesel smoke into the cabin on anything but Max.
