2006 Corolla gas pedel sticking ?

Has anyone had or knows someone that has had a problem with an 2006 Corolla gas pedel sticking, that would make the car accelerate more than you desired? Our 06 Corolla was damaged ( back window broke into pieces, trunk and hood pushed in when she hit the corner of the house going in reverse), she claimed the gas pedel stuck, tried to stop, and crashed. Also, in neutral, the car was racing at 3 rpm's. We have a 06 Corolla Ce, automatic, with 629 miles at the time of the crash.

Don't know about your car in particular but a sticking cable, throttle plate, damaged return spring, or a sliding carpet mat may jam the peddle are a few things that come to mind that can cause this problem.
