1000hp fuel setup. (56k WARN)
So my fuel setup is about complete... -10AN from the fuel cell to the A1000 fuel pump. Then -10AN from the pump to the engine bay into the aeromotive high flow 100 micron fuel filter. Then from the fuel filter, -10AN to the rail and back to the A1000 FPR. -6AN from the FPR back to the fuel cell for the return. I am using PTE 1600cc fuel injectors and I will be running 119 octane gas at all times.
I have about $650 into the whole setup. I got a very good deal on the pump, cell, 17ft of -10AN line and the fuel filter for $350. The pump and filter are worth that alone. Everything is brand new. Here is a pic of the parts... ![]() And some pictures of the install. The A1000 FPR is on its way. Engine bay: ![]() Fuel Pump: ![]() Fuel Cell: ![]() Fuel lines run and pump: ![]() Fuel rail and fittings: ![]() Here is the link to the rest of the album if anyone wants to check out more pics... http://photobucket.com/albums/e21/Dragtalon/ Hopefully I will never have to upgrade my fuel setup again!

Looks like a sweet set-up.
Just curious, is that a stock fuel rail????

Re: 1000hp fuel setup. (56k WARN)
I would think with that much into the fuel system you would get a high volume fuel rail to complete it. Looks good though, I'm assuming its a track only car, what do you plan on hitting for numbers?

Re: 1000hp fuel setup. (56k WARN)
Yes it is... It is plenty big. I tapped it out to 3/8" NPT (which is a little over 5/8" standard size or 16mm) and it is about 9/16" in diameter inside so it will be able to flow plenty of fuel.

A friend made 694AWHP on the same turbo but was running out of fuel. I'm shooting for 700. Once I hit that number I'm going to race the car to see what times I can achieve. I would like to see close to a 140 trap. That would get me close to a nice mid 10 second run with good driving. If I get that before summer I'm going to put the nitrous on and go for a 9. There are a couple people running the same turbo hitting mid 9s with nitrous and high 9s without so I think it's possible. The car is getting a 10pt cage good to 9.99 so that will be plenty good for my goals. If I get kicked off the track for not having a 12pt cage I will be happy as hell. All I want is a single digit this year. Whether it is a 9.99 or faster, that is my goal. I have to go run some errands... I'll explain more later. |

Re: 1000hp fuel setup. (56k WARN)
Sweet turbo choice
![]() If this car is going to see much street use I would think the 6an return would be too small to get fuel pressure in line, but for WOT use that's a nice proven setup to go with. I had fuel capacity issues when I was running the T67, it really does pay to go too big when you get to this level. According to my math, the A1000 at 35 psi boost (assuming 43 psi base) anda traget AFR of 12:1 and using race gas with a specific gravity of .724 (sunoco 117) that setup is good for 84 lbs/min, or about 10 pounds more than a T67 will do at full tilt. Works out nicely.

Re: 1000hp fuel setup. (56k WARN)
How close does that sit to the drive shaft? Looks really close from that picture. But really nice setup so far.I see you probably did not do much to the cr before all this and ebgine pull. Still had stock exhaust on it lol

Re: 1000hp fuel setup. (56k WARN)
Ok, I dont mean to be an ignorant dumbass, but which one is the filter and which one is the regulator? Where is the regulator on a car with the stock fuel system?

Re: 1000hp fuel setup. (56k WARN)
The filter can be seen sitting on top of the cell in the first pic, and installed in the second pic. I don't see his reg in the pics. The reg on the stock DSMs is on the drivers side end of the fuel rail, attached directly to it.

Re: 1000hp fuel setup. (56k WARN)
Yeah I had to order the regulator... Should be here by the end of the week. Hopefully the car will be running this weekend! Going to be wierd to have to open my hatch to fill up on gas. Although I am only going to run 119 octane, it wont see much street use. At $11 a gallon, it will get expensive!
