89 s-10 blazer running rough at operating tempature

my 4.3 165000 mile engine runs great when it's cold. After it warms up it starts missing when stopped in gear and when accelerating. Once its moving it seems fine and idles fine in park. New plugs and wires. Distributor 2 years old. Thanks for viewing any help on what to do next?

might still change out cap and rotor. was it missing before you changed plugs? might want to also check fuel pressure(9 to 14psi), egr valve, and test the coil.

Re: 89 s-10 blazer running rough at operating tempature

The engine was missing all the time before. I thought I found the problem a melted plug wire. The cap and rotor are 1 year old that's why I did not replace them(I was also afraid I might mess up the firing order!)After replacing the wires and plugs I took it for a short test drive it ran great. But the next drive was further allowing the engine to heat up. That's when the problem started. I understand how to check/replace the egr valve, but how do I know if the coil is bad?
